Car rental at Pisa Airport

Our car was clean and worked as one would expect. There was a lot of damage on the car and not all of it was marked on the paperwork. The staff rectified that straight away. On drop off it took a good half hour for the car to be inspected and cleared of new damage - maybe because we did not take the hire companies excess insurance etc (we arranged our own beforehand).

Renting a car, what a hassle. Except with Autovia at Pisa airport. Smooth check in, smooth checkout. No aggressive upselling. Just a good car at a good price and pleasant staff. Recommended

Pick up of the car was great with a very helpful agent, being very kind and ordering me a taxi when I left the wallet with my UK driving license back at the hotel. Important to note that at the Pisa pickup, an international driving permit was not needed , just a photo Id UK driving license and passport. We booked a car (Opel Astra or smilar) for our 4 day trip via Ryanair. It turned out to be a new VW Golf with no marks and only 3,000 miles. First time with Autovia, and we had a great experience related to the car itself and the service at the desk. We received a great car for an UV Midsize range (a BYD) and the service went smooth and flawless. Need to add that we booked all insurances upfront and had an unexpected cost for taking our car outside of Italy (100€ extra).

We booked our car hire through EasyJet which made life much easier. Comparing to others, the value was good as well & we opted for the AXA insurance package. When we were collecting the car (which was a full spec new vehicle), the desk clerk tried to sell us more insurance stating that the purchased insurance wasnt going to protect us. Salvatore helped my friend and I rent a van at the last minute and was super helpful with the process. Very fast and available with answers to all of our questions.

Booked through SecretEscapes. Waited 50mins in a queue to pick up as there was only 1 person manning the desk...but, they gave us a free upgrade on the car for the long wait. We were also upsold £80 on the insurance policy, but seemed worth the money. We had no issues with the car, and drop off was quick and easy. There are plenty of petrol stations within 10mins of the airport to return the car on a full tank.

Having read all the bad reviews, we were prepared for the worst - BUT EVERYTHING WENT WELL. Staff was actually friendly, not aggressively selling insurance (so we just went with the external insurance we already paid for). Also, there were no claims for damages when we gave the car back.
