Everything went smoothly with both picking up and dropping off the car. The paperwork was done quickly, and the staff were nice and helpful. The only downside was the condition of the car — it had quite a few scratches and signs of wear. Also, the key fob battery was dead, which made starting the car a bit stressful, and I had to replace the battery myself.
Price, car and pick-up and return were convenient. However credit card was not accepted at first. The clerk wanted me to pay a fee of 60€ per day for insurance reason. After spending 1 hour and 40€ roaming phone cost, the bank told me that the clerk did not even try to check the card. 30min in the queue again, the clerk at the other desk entered the credit card details and it worked hassle free.
On return, few litres short of fuel. I agreed to pay the missing litres and a fee of 15€. They charged 12 litres without any proof. 40 € in total. That is theft. Contacted customercare@autovia.it two times => no response of course update 26/6: AutoVia has reimbursed the difference. Thank you!
We picked up a car from here. I cannot speak to the drop off procedure. I am only reviewing pickup. We checked in at the office down the street. The girl working there was kind and helpful. She walked me through the sign in process then told us to walk to the garage where we could pick up our car. I walked there and they had our car ready for us to drive away in just a few minutes. Smooth service at pick-up, smooth and fast return. Staff informative, but not too pushy about the additional insurance, which I really appreciated. Got a car which I paid for and it served me well. Deposit released 5 days after return. Would reuse Autovia/Ecovia any time without hesitation.
Very well laid out, with indoor pick for car transportation. However, there was a last minute change to our platform number (which is apparently very common) and directions to the other platform were not well marked. We bitterly had to run down 2 levels, some areas of stairs & BARELY made our train to Florence. You have to watch the monitors constantly for last minute announcements!
Everything was ok with Autovia Bologna Train Station. From online booking via email two days in advance to car delivery and return. A very nice young girl helped us in the office and everything went quickly. We got a car upgrade from the reserved category. Everything well done. Pick up and drop off is at a garage a few blocks away and is also quick. The deposit was released 1 day after returning the car. I recommend renting from Autovia.
We are really pleased with the service. Very efficient,kind and they even upgraded us! I noticed in the waiting room people were rude to some of the workers, I want to outline that these guys are doing there best and to always be kind! Highly reccomend Autovia/ Ecovia car rentals.
