Warning: possible fraud attemps
Fraud attempts targeting customers in the car rental industry have recently been reported.
Some telephone numbers published online and apparently associated with brokers, car rental companies, rental locations or roadside assistance providers may not belong to the legitimate operators. Customers calling these numbers may be asked to make a bank transfer to pay a security deposit, amend a reservation or settle other amounts allegedly related to the rental.
Autovia does not request payment by bank transfer for security deposits, guarantees, reservation changes or any other amounts relating to the vehicle rental.
Before making any payment:
- always verify the contact details published on Autovia’s official website or on the official website of the intermediary through which you made your reservation;
- ask for all communications and payment requests to be provided in writing;
- never make a bank transfer solely on the basis of a telephone request;
- never disclose banking details, payment codes or personal information to unverified individuals.
In the event of a suspicious request, immediately end the communication and contact us exclusively through the official contact details published on our website.
We kindly ask customers to cooperate by promptly reporting the telephone numbers or other contact details used, as well as any IBAN or bank account details provided for the requested payment.
Where payments have already been made or personal or banking information has been disclosed, customers should also promptly contact their bank and file a formal fraud report with the competent authorities, where appropriate.
